Why Privasis?

Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA)

Privasus helps customers with a comprehensive Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) that ensures privacy considerations are systematically addressed and integrated into the project or process from its early stages. Privasis consulting help  organizations identify and mitigate privacy risks, comply with legal requirements, and demonstrate accountability and transparency in their data handling practices.

A detailed Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) typically includes the following components:

  1. Scope and Purpose: The PIA should clearly define the scope and purpose of the assessment. It outlines the project, system, or process for which the PIA is being conducted and provides an overview of its objectives, functionalities, and expected impacts on privacy.  Privasis privacy experts helps you with focussed scope and purpose.
  2. Data Collection: This section identifies and describes the types of personal data that will be collected as part of the project or process. It includes details such as the categories of data, the sources of data collection, and the methods used to collect the data. It also highlights any sensitive or special categories of data that may be involved. Privasis experts helps with detailed data classification and data mapping for personal and financial data.
  3. Data Processing and Use: Here, the PIA examines how the collected personal data will be processed, used, and shared within the project or process. It covers aspects such as data storage, retention periods, data transfers, data sharing with third parties, and any automated decision-making processes involved. Privasis experts guide you for data processing needs and use and how to manage customer data processing.

and much more..

Why organizations need a robust Privacy Program

Organizations need a robust Privacy Program for several important reasons:

  1. Protecting Consumer Rights: Consumer organizations exist to advocate for the rights and interests of consumers. Privacy is a fundamental consumer right, and a robust Privacy Program ensures that consumer data is protected from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. By establishing and implementing strong privacy policies and practices, consumer organizations demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding consumer information and maintaining trust with their constituents.
  2. Compliance with Regulations: Privacy regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in the United States, have become more stringent in recent years. A robust Privacy Program helps consumer organizations comply with these regulations and avoid legal consequences, fines, and reputational damage. It ensures that consumer data is collected, processed, and stored in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
  3. Building Consumer Trust: Privacy breaches and data mishandling incidents erode consumer trust in organizations. By establishing a robust Privacy Program, consumer organizations demonstrate their commitment to protecting consumer privacy, thereby enhancing trust and credibility. When consumers trust an organization's approach to privacy, they are more likely to engage with the organization, share their data, and support its initiatives.

Privasis helps you navigate new changes in US Privacy Laws

  1. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): The CCPA went into effect on January 1, 2020. It grants California residents certain rights regarding their personal information, such as the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to opt-out of the sale of their personal information, and the right to request the deletion of their personal information.
  2. California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA): The CPRA, also known as Proposition 24, was passed in November 2020 and expands on the provisions of the CCPA. It introduces additional privacy rights for California residents and establishes the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) to enforce privacy laws.
  3. Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (CDPA): The CDPA was signed into law in March 2021 and is set to take effect on January 1, 2023. It establishes data protection rights for Virginia residents and requires businesses to comply with certain obligations regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data.
  4. Nevada Privacy Law (SB 220): Nevada's privacy law, enacted in 2019, grants consumers the right to opt-out of the sale of their personal information by certain covered operators. It also requires covered operators to provide consumers with notices regarding their data practices.
  5. New York SHIELD Act: The Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security (SHIELD) Act, enacted in 2019, amends the state's data breach notification law. It expands the definition of personal information, imposes additional data security requirements on businesses, and enhances the notification obligations in the event of a data breach.
